Club legend Georgi Slavkov passed away

Botev Plovdiv's legendary player Georgi Slavkov passed away today at age of 55. His death came unexpectedly, when he was going home after work at the Komatevo club campus. 

Slavkov has a long career in Botev, scoring more than 62 goals in 112 games with the Yellow-Black shirt in the 80s. He played also for CSKA Sofia and teams abroad. In 1981 he was honoured as the best goalscorer in Europe, winning with his 31 goals in the Championship The Golden Boot award.

Botev offers the club's condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Georgi.
