Botev Plovdiv took the city derby against Lokomotiv Plovdiv with 2-1 win, after loosing 0-1 less than 10 minutes before the end of the game. Due to a punishment from the Bulgarian football union, the derby was played in Sofia at the National Stadium Vasil Levski.

The first half lacked a lot of beautiful football combinations, and most of the game was a fight for the midfield. Despite that, The Canaries had few good chances to score, missed by Marian Ognyanov, Yunes Hamza and Ferebory Dore.

The game took a surprise turn in the 59th minute, when Zdravko Lazarov took the best from a good pass from Kamburov to score past Stachovyak for 0-1. The Canaries tried to get back in the game, but could do nothing more than few weak shot from distance. The coach Stanimir Stoilov took action and let Kurtean, Vander and Ivan Cvetkov in play. The first one assisted Hamza in the 83th minute to equalize with a header after a cross from the right wing.

In the 87th minute Vander was fouled near the corner. Again Kurtean got behind the ball, and made a perfect cross to the far post, where the third substitute Ivan Cvetkov was waiting to score another header for 2-1.
