Botev climbes to second place after derby win 14-09-2013 14:49

Botev Plovdiv overlapped Litex Lovech and climbed to the second place after the 8th round of the Bulgarian championship. The Canaries crushed the local rival Lokomotiv Plovdiv 2-0 with two goals by Abel Anicet(pictured above).

The Malagasy player scored his first goal after a perfect one-two pass with Todor Nedelev in the 18th minute. The job for the Yellow-Blacks became tougher, after a red card for the defensive midfielder Boris Galchev in the 27 minute. Nonetheless, Botev was still the better team and Lokomotiv didn't create any goalscoring opportunities. In the second half Anicet scored second goal in the 55th minute, despite Botev being with 10 men on the field. 4 minutes later Lokomotiv's forward Do Karmo was sent off for a second yellow card, after a simulation for a penalty.

With this win Botev Plovdiv climbed to the second place, since Litex Lovech made a wrong step at home against Slavia, finishing 1-1. The champions Ludogorets are leaders with 18 points, one more than Botev.
